field service diesel truck and plant mechanic
Experience, qualification, Duties, and Responsibilities:
We are seeking a full-time field service diesel truck and plant mechanic to join our team in Coffs Harbour. This role will see you work on a variety of fleet vehicles, including heavy haulage vehicles and specialised plant, providing maintenance, repair, and scheduled servicing to the highest standard.
What you will be doing:
- Monitor all vehicles, plant, and equipment for periodic maintenance, repairs, and scheduled servicing.
- Record and maintain detailed maintenance service logs.
- Regularly audit Company tools and equipment.
- Ensure and maintain a clean, safe and organised work environment.
- Fieldwork is needed to attend to breakdowns or carry out repairs and maintenance.
- Work in an equipped workshop with specialty tools.
What we are looking for:
- Trade Qualification in Diesel Mechanics
- Effective initiative and strong technical knowledge of diesel mechanics
- Valid HR Australian Drivers Licence as a minimum
- A commitment to workplace health and safety
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues
- Demonstrated experience in working with heavy diesel vehicles
- Minimum 4 years of experience
- White card and High-Risk work licence

Experience, qualification, Duties, and Responsibilities:
- Operation and Maintenance assistance of Timber Harvesting Machinery
- Minimum 3 years experience as a Machine operator
- Hold a current ticket with Machine Operations qualification
- Fire Weather observer and Bush Fire awareness.
- Current Driver licence
- Abide by all requirements of the Burgundy Heights Procedure Manuals
- Operate machinery in safe and orderly manner and within the drivers own capabilities
- Monitor equipment for periodical service requirements and lease with Operations Manager to ensure availability of such for service
- Maintain accurate and neat detailed Log Sheet for all machines
- Record all maintenance on the Maintenance Logs
- Machine and attachment to be greased daily
- Report maintenance needs of equipment in a timely manner. Engines serviced every 250 hrs
- Assistant mechanics with service requirements
- initiate OH&S improvements and monitor / report any issues which may contravene either Work cover or Company regulations
- Work in a safe and orderly manner at all time, taking particular care to use accepted safe practices with any power driven tools / equipment
- Wear Safty / protective clothing as required for particular jobs
- Ensure "lockout" tags are used on Machines undergoing service
- Amid by all road rules / regulations on public and private roads when operating machinery
- Maintain the machine in clean, safe, and tidy manner
